Real Needs,
Easy Voting,
Better Cities

LOPI is a civic engagement platform that supports the submission of projects for participatory budgeting and helps select the most needed ones. With our tools, residents can quickly and conveniently vote on and comment on submitted proposals.

Collect the most interesting and needed initiatives and make decisions that truly reflect the community’s needs.

Participatory budgeting – key challenges.

Effective management of participatory budgeting starts with understanding the real needs of residents.. However, collecting ideas and projects that serve the wider community can be challenging. Most often, only the participants are active who have the time to engage. This may result in proposals that do not fully reflect the needs of the entire community.

Also extremely important is spatial precision.. Without the ability to indicate specific locations on a map, it is difficult to assess whether a project is feasible or what area it covers

Once the proposals are gathered, it becomes crucial to discussing and voting. Unfortunately, not all residents have time for traditional consultations and voting. Communication between residents, planners, and decision-makers is often limited and challenging.

Ensuring transparency and clear information also remains a key concern. Residents often don’t know which projects have won, by what margin, or how their implementation is progressing. The lack of dialogue and fast feedback leads to a feeling of being ignored and reduces engagement in subsequent budget cycles

Benefits

We know the challenges in managing participatory budgeting

and how to tackle and overcome them!

For years, we have been supporting cities and municipalities in running participatory budgeting processes.

With LOPI, you can quickly create a project and needs map for participatory budgeting that clearly shows what residents are missing and where. But that’s not all. Thanks to the LopiTalk tool, it’s also possible to vote, comment on projects, and engage in dialogue with other residents, architects, or experts.

Discover what LOPI can do for you.

1

Reaching a wider community

LOPI tools make it possible for young and busy residents to take part, while seniors can receive support from survey assistants.
2

Convenience and accessibility

Projects can be submitted, voted on, and commented on at any time. Residents can share their opinions in their spare moments: while riding a tram or waiting in line.
3

Data analysis and visualization

The results are processed and presented through charts, heat maps, and clear dashboards, making it easier to draw conclusions and communicate findings to residents.
4

Spatial precision

By pinpointing exact locations on the map, misunderstandings are avoided, and the data becomes more useful in the voting process and project implementation.
5

Transparency and dialogue

With LopiTalk residents can not only vote and comment but also monitor which project is the most popular.
6

Expert and technical support

The LOPI team provides training and guidance for officials, ensuring a smooth and effective participatory budgeting process.

Residents can mark specific places on the interactive map and indicate the exact locations of their needs or ideas for the participatory budget.

Transparency and trust

Voting results and comments might be accessible to everyone, which strengthens trust in the participatory budgeting process.

Space for dialogue

Residents can freely share ideas, comment on proposals, and vote for the best participatory budgeting projects. Experts and officials can provide explanations about the context of each project.

Is LOPI difficult for officials to use?

Do residents need any special knowledge or apps to participate in the participatory budgeting process?

What does the implementation process of LOPI in our city look like?

The city chooses the subscription period (one year or more) and the set of tools it wants to use (for participatory budgeting we recommend Lopi Talk), and we prepare the administrative panel. After a short training, the city can independently create its own consultations. Our team provides technical and content support at every stage.
